Who can get the free share

The offer is run by XTB Limited, regulated in the UK by the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority). It’s open to:

  • people aged 18 or over who are UK tax residents and open a first account with XTB Limited
  • no active account in the XTB Group in the last 365 days
  • Never received an XTB welcome bonus or promotion before.
  • not a US Person (US citizens, green card holders, US taxpayers)

Each client gets the reward only once, however many accounts they open.

The 7-day deadline

The 7 days start on the day you apply for the account, not on the day XTB approves it. Identity verification counts towards them, and XTB takes no responsibility for delays in verification or funding.

A deposit counts on the day the money reaches your XTB account. If you apply on 8 November, you still have 7 days from that date, even after the campaign ends.

🔔What XTB treats as abuse

XTB can withhold or reclaim the shares if someone deposits a token amount with no intention to invest, withdraws everything right after receiving the reward, or opens several accounts.

The reward is fixed. You can’t swap VALL for another ETF or for cash, and the offer can’t be combined with other XTB promotions.

What the five VALL shares are worth

XTB free share: 5 shares of the Vanguard VALL ETFXTB values the five shares at about £18.50, based on the price on 18 September 2026. The value on the day they reach your account depends on the market.

VALL tracks the FTSE Global All Cap index, so it holds companies of every size from developed and emerging markets in one fund. It’s quoted in pounds, so a GBP account needs no currency conversion.

Once credited, the shares are yours to keep or sell.

What the deposit and first purchase cost

XTB Limited charges no commission on shares and ETFs up to a monthly turnover equivalent to 100,000 EUR. Deposits by card or bank transfer in GBP are free on XTB’s side.

The £50 deposit can pay for the qualifying purchase itself. Buying something priced in dollars or euros adds a 0.5% currency conversion fee, so a share or ETF quoted in pounds is the cheaper choice.

The terms don’t say whether a fractional share counts as the qualifying purchase. A whole share of a cheap ETF avoids the question.

Alternative free share offers

XTB isn’t the only broker that gives shares to new clients in the UK. eToro works on a different model: its offer also pays out in shares, worth £40 to £500 depending on the size of the first deposit. The lowest bonus starts with a deposit of £500.

The shares come from a choice of six companies, NVIDIA, Apple, Rolls-Royce Holdings, AMD, ASML Holding and BAE Systems. The conditions are in our overview of eToro free shares.

Frequently asked questions

Is the XTB free share really free?

Yes, XTB pays for the shares and the £50 deposit stays in your account. The first purchase carries no commission, only the usual spread.

Can I sell the VALL shares straight away?

Yes, there’s no minimum holding period, but withdrawing everything right after the reward arrives can count as abuse.

Does a CFD trade count as the first investment?

No. Only a purchase of a real share or ETF counts, and leveraged ETPs are excluded as well.

I had an XTB account two years ago. Can I join?

Only if that account hasn’t been active in the last 365 days and you’ve never received an XTB welcome bonus.

What if my identity check takes longer than 7 days?

Then the reward is lost, because the 7 days run from your application and the terms don’t stop the clock for verification.

Do I pay tax on the free shares?

Any tax linked to the reward, such as capital gains tax, is your responsibility. Check your situation with a tax adviser.

Three steps and one deadline

A £50 deposit that stays yours, one purchase of a share or ETF, and five VALL shares at the end. Just keep all of it within 7 days of your application.

What the code XTBEXTRA from the first step adds is described on our page about the referral code XTB new clients can enter at sign-up.
